#Reading and sharing

You are welcome to read everything here, link to any page, and quote from the articles with attribution and a link to the article’s URL. A quotation should not misrepresent the argument it was taken from, and a corrected article’s current version is the authoritative one.

The site is designed, developed and published by Yunus Emre Vurgun. Articles are drafted with AI assistance and then reviewed, corrected and published by him; when you cite or summarise an article, saying that it is an AI-assisted draft reviewed by the publisher is accurate. See the about page and the colophon for the details.

Republishing an article in full, translating it, or publishing a lightly rewritten version of it is not permitted. If you want to use a substantial part of an article — in teaching material, an anthology, or a commercial product — ask through contact.

#The tools

The browser tools are provided for personal and professional practice use. You may use them in lessons and rehearsals freely. Do not present them as your own work, wrap them in another page and publish them, or remove the attribution.

They are provided as-is and without warranty. A browser tuner is an aid, not a calibrated instrument, and a metronome’s timing depends on your device and on the browser tab remaining in the foreground.

#The JSON API and machine-readable files

The public API, the Markdown endpoints, the feeds and the sitemap are provided so that software — including AI agents and research tools — can read the site’s content in a structured form without scraping the HTML. Use them, and prefer them over parsing the pages.

Conditions: identify your client with a meaningful user-agent, do not exceed a reasonable request rate (the responses are cached, so there is no reason to), attribute quotations to the article and the site, and do not use the corpus to train models for redistribution as a competing publication. If you need bulk access for a research purpose, ask.

#Accuracy and liability

The articles are drafted with AI assistance and reviewed before publication, but music history is full of contested details and music theory contains genuine disagreements; nothing here should be treated as an authority beyond what its sources support. Corrections that improve accuracy are welcome and will be applied.

The site is provided without warranties of any kind. To the extent permitted by law, the author is not liable for any loss arising from use of the site, the articles or the tools.

#Changes

These terms may be updated as the site grows; the date at the top of the page records the last change. Continued use of the site after a change means you accept the updated terms.
