What this site does and does not collect: no analytics, no advertising, no third-party requests, one local preference.
The short version: this site does not track you, does not profile you, and does not send your data anywhere. There is no analytics package, no advertising network, no social embed and no third-party script of any kind.
What the site stores on your device
One thing: your colour-theme choice, in localStorage, under the key musics-theme. It holds either light or dark. It is read by the page to apply your preference and never transmitted. Clearing site data removes it, and nothing breaks if it is absent.
No cookies are set by the site. No session identifier, no tracking pixel, no fingerprinting script.
What the server sees
Like every website, the server that hosts the site records requests in an access log: IP address, time, the URL requested, the referrer if your browser sends one, and your browser’s user-agent string. These logs are controlled and rotated by the hosting provider, are used for security and capacity purposes, and are not combined with anything else or used to build a profile. The site code itself neither reads nor stores them.
Microphone and audio
The chromatic tuner asks for microphone access when you start it. The audio is analysed inside the page with the Web Audio API to estimate the fundamental frequency of the note you are playing. It is never recorded, never uploaded, and stops the moment you stop the tuner or leave the page. Every other tool synthesises sound locally and needs no permission at all.
External links
Articles and the catalogue link to other sites — streaming platforms, reference works, scores. Those sites have their own privacy practices and will see the request once you follow a link. Nothing is loaded from them while you are reading here: no embedded players, no preview widgets, no tracking parameters beyond the ones the platforms themselves attach to their own release links.
Your rights
Because no personal data is collected by this site, there is nothing to export, rectify or erase. If you believe a host-level log contains something it should not, or you want to ask about a specific request, use contact.
The legal basis for the server logging described above, where the GDPR applies, is legitimate interest in operating a secure website. No data is sold, shared or transferred to third parties for marketing.
